Advanced Training

Advanced Training

This is a special program through the state of Ohio and only offered a few times each year.  

The program consists of two hours classroom and four hours of driving.

Requirements:

  • Students must be 15 1/2 to 18 years old and have a valid Temporary Permit or Driver's License to participate in this program.

  • Professional Driving Systems students receive this training in the 32 Hour New Driver Program.

  • The Advanced Driver Training does not replace the 32 Hour New Driver Program.

​​OBJECTIVES: 

  • Develop greater knowledge of:

    • Driving physics

    • Vehicle dynamics

    • Proper visual techniques

    • Speed and space management

    • Preventable driver distractions

    • Driver fitness

  • Develop greater hands-on driving skills in responding to emergency situations including:

    • Wet road maneuvers

    • Emergency transition maneuvers

    • Skid control
