Advanced Driver Training Program
Students must be 15 1/2 to 18 years old and have a valid Temporary Permit
or
Licensed under the age of 18 years old to complete this program.
The program consists of two hours classroom and four hours of driving.
- The classroom covers driving physics, vehicle dynamics, proper vision techniques, speed, space management, distractions and driver fitness.
- The driving portion is performed using the students vehicle, for emergency transition maneuvers and wet road braking. Skid avoidance and control is completed using the PDS skid platform car.
OBJECTIVES
Develop greater knowledge of:
-Driving physics -Vehicle dynamics -Proper vision techniques -Speed and space management -Distractions -Driver fitness |
Develop greater hands-on driving skills in:
-Responding to emergency situations including: -Wet road maneuvers -Emergency transition maneuvers -Skid control |
Professional Driving Systems students receive this training in the 32 Hour New Driver Program.
